Het Oogziekenhuis Rotterdam in the Netherlands went live with MetaVision in their OR, holding unit and PACU. The system was customized to support the unique workflow of eye surgery. Implementation was completed in only 14 weeks from the first site visit to go-live day.

Calvary Health Care ACT (CHCA) in Canberra went live with MetaVision in its ICU and CCU. iMDsoft created a shared distribution environment for CHCA and The Canberra Hospital (TCH), which has been live with MetaVision in its ICU since April 2011. Since both hospitals are part of Australian Capital Territory’s intensive care network, the hospitals can now maintain standardization and enforce best practices according to the network’s health policies.

A new academic study published by The Johns Hopkins Hospital used data collected by MetaVision to create a revised maximum surgical blood order schedule (MSBOS), which is used to determine preoperative blood orders for specific surgical procedures. The study concludes that implementation of the updated MSBOS offers the potential to improve operating room efficiency, enhance patient safety, and reduce costs. The hospital estimates that a $200,000 reduction in hospital charges of per year would be achieved if unnecessary blood orders were eliminated at their hospital.  (Anesthesiology, June 2013)

Landesklinikum Zwettl in Austria has gone live with MetaVision in its OR and PACU. With MetaVision already successfully implemented in the hospital’s ICU, Landesklinikum Zwettl will now enjoy one continuous patient record across their continuum of care.

Liv Hospital in Turkey went live with MetaVision in their ICU. The hospital, which opened in January 2013, is the first in a new hospital chain. Future plans include implementation of MetaVision in the OR and NICU departments.

Centre Hospitalier Intercommunal de la Haute-Saone in Vesoul, France went live with MetaVision in its ICU. The system supports export to CCAM, which has been proven to increase the percentage of billable procedures and reduce time spent on coding.

MV-PICU, an advanced point-of-care Clinical Information System designed specifically for use in pediatric intensive care units, fully supports the unique workflows of high-need, data-rich PICUs. Krankenhaus der Barmherzigen Schwestern Linz in Austria chose MetaVision for 22 beds in its Post-operative ICU and Internal ICU. The hospital is part of the Vincent Group, a health network which is comprised of 7 hospitals. Krankenhaus der Barmherzigen Schwestern Linz was impressed with MetaVision’s flexibility, which enables the hospital to support their unique workflow.

Isala Klinieken in the Netherlands goes live with MetaVision in additional units

Isala Klinieken in Zwolle, the Netherlands, has gone live with MetaVision in their ICU, NICU and OR in two separate locations, Weezenlanden and Sophia. The system has been implemented in the hospital’s Thoracic Surgery Unit since 2006. Isala Klinieken, the largest non-academic hospital in the Netherlands, will be merging the two sites and moving to a new location in Zwolle later this year. MetaVision will be fully integrated with Isala Klinieken’s existing hospital-wide systems, including their electronic medication prescription system.

Landeskrankenhaus Feldkirch in Austria went live with MetaVision in its ICU.

Centre Hospitalier Universitaire de Nice (CHU) in France has gone live with MetaVision in the OR and PACU at Hospital Archet 2. The system was customized to support CIM10 and Vidal medication contradiction interfaces in accordance with French regulations. This is the third implementation of MetaVision in the CHU network, which has chosen the system for three of its hospitals: Archet 1 and 2, Saint-Roch, and Pasteur. MetaVision will be implemented in more than 230 beds and rooms across CHU's entire continuum of care, including the pre-, intra- and post-op environments, as well as all the network's ICUs (medical, surgical, and step-down units).

Lehigh Valley Health Network in Pennsylvania has gone live with MetaVision in their PICU. MV-PICU, an advanced point-of-care Clinical Information System designed specifically for use in pediatric intensive care units, fully supports the unique workflows of high-need, data-rich PICUs. The system seamlessly integrates data from bedside devices, including IV pumps, hemodynamic monitors, and ECMOs, to create a continuous electronic record. LVHN has already successfully implemented MetaVision in their adult ICU, OR, and PACU units, and their intensivists use iMDsoft’s tele-monitoring solution, MVcentral, to monitor ICU patients in multiple remote locations. High-impact results reported by LVHN include 30% decreased mortality rate (after implementing a health IT bundle including MV-ICU and MVcentral), significantly increased compliance with care protocols and financial benefits worth over 1.5 million dollars over one year.

Salzburger Landeskliniken Universitätsklinikum (SALK) in Austria has gone live with MetaVision in its NICU. MV-NICU fully supports the unique workflows of high-need, data-rich NICUs, where variations in micro-calculations and dosages can have serious ramifications. The system seamlessly integrates data from bedside devices, including IV pumps, hemodynamic monitors, and incubators, to create a continuous electronic record for NICUs and step-down nursery units. Bedford Hospital in the UK chose MetaVision for its ICU. MetaVision is replacing the hospital’s current clinical information system from GE.

CHU Sainte Justine in Montreal, Canada has chosen MetaVision for their OR, PACU and Pre-op units, for a total of 46 beds. CHU Sainte-Justine is the largest mother and child center in Canada and the largest pediatric teaching center in Quebec. iMDsoft and Medworxx cooperated to bring about this solution.

Sunnybrook Health Science Health in Toronto, Canada has chosen MetaVision as the Patient Data Management System (PDMS) for all of their adult and neonatal ICUs, for a total of 130 beds. With 1.2 million patient visits each year, Sunnybrook has established itself as the largest single-site hospital in Canada. iMDsoft and Medworxx cooperated to bring about this solution.

Krankenhaus der Barmherzigen Schwestern Ried in Austria chose MetaVision for 24 beds in its OR and PACU. The system will be implemented in a new hospital slated to open at the end of March 2013. MetaVision’s flexibility, order set capability and preconfigured standardization of workflow were key factors in its selection.

The Sjælland region of Denmark extended its choice of MetaVision with an additional 146 licenses. MetaVision will be installed in a total of 339 beds throughout the ICUs, NICUs, ORs and PACUs of seven hospitals - Køge, Holbæk, Roskilde, Næstved, Nykøbing, Slagelse and Ringsted. All seven hospitals will use the same database, standardizing critical care delivery and enforcing best practices throughout the region.

Isala Klinieken in Zwolle, the Netherlands, has chosen MetaVision for 133 beds across their OR, ICU and NICU. The system has been implemented in the hospital’s Thoracic Surgery Unit since 2006. Isala Klinieken, the largest non-academic hospital in the Netherlands, will be merging two separate sites and moving to a new location in Zwolle in 2013. Isala Klinieken’s positive experience with MetaVision to date, combined with iMDsoft’s proven experience with NICU departments and record of successful implementations in the Netherlands, were key reasons the hospital chose MetaVision for their new facility. MetaVision will be fully integrated with Isala Klinieken’s existing hospital-wide systems, including their medication system.

Hôpital La Pitié-Salpétrière in Paris, France chose MetaVision for 53 new beds in its PACU, Neurology ICU, Pneumology ICU and Hepatology-Gastrology ICU. MetaVision has been successfully installed in the hospital’s ICU and OR since December 2008, with published results demonstrating decreased mortality rate and length of stay following implementation of the system. Hôpital La Pitié-Salpétrière is part of l’Assistance Publique – Hôpitaux de Paris, the largest university hospital in Europe.

South West Medical Center in Kansas went live with MetaVision in its OR.

Rems Murr Kliniken (RMK) in Germany went live with MetaVision in 30 ICU beds in two locations, Waiblingen and Schorndorf . MetaVision serves as a single platform for the two hospitals to standardize patient care and best practices, and for the enforcement of protocols. The system's database was customized in order to meet RMK’s unique requirements.

Ziekenhuis Bethesda Hoogeveen in the Netherlands has gone live with MetaVision in their ICU, Medium Care Unit (MC), Cardiac Care Unit (CCU), OR and PACU. The hospital recently merged with Scheper Ziekenhuis Emmen, an existing iMDsoft customer, and the two hospitals now enjoy a continuum of care across their acute care departments.

Assaf Harofeh Medical Center in Israel went live with MetaVision in its 18-bed ICU.

Robert-Bosch Krankenhaus (RBK) in Stuttgart, Germany has gone live with MetaVision in 58 beds across four ICU departments and one Intermediate Care department at two different locations (RBK & Klinik Schillerhöhe). The hospital now enjoys a continuum of care across their critical care environment.

St Jansdal Ziekenhuis in the Netherlands went live with MetaVision in its OR and PACU. MetaVision has been successfully installed as the hospital’s Patient Data Management System (PDMS) in their ICU since 2009.

Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center, one of the largest hospitals in Israel, has gone live with MetaVision in its PACU and Cardiothoracic ICU. With the system already successfully installed in the hospital’s ICU, NICU and OR, MetaVision is now live in 5 departments at TASMC.

iMDsoft announced that the Government of Queensland has signed a statewide enterprise license agreement that covers the deployment of MetaVision in ICUs across the state’s network of public hospitals. The signing of this agreement signals the success of the project thus far, and validates the work that began with the initial go-live at Gold Coast Hospital in August 2011.

Now that both nurses and anesthesiologists use MetaVision, Albemarle Hospital has one consolidated system for reports, queries and billing information.

Bezirkskrankenhaus St. Johann in Tirol, Austria went live with MetaVision in their ICU, Pre-op, OR, and PACU units, providing patients with a complete continuum of care. The system was customized to accommodate the hospital’s unique workflow for preoperative clinical assessments.

Rockyview General Hospital in Calgary, Canada went live with MetaVision in its ICU, replacing their existing Patient Data Management System (PDMS). This is the first implementation in a province-wide agreement with Alberta Health Services (AHS). MetaVision will be installed as the critical care system in 17 hospitals, including two children's hospitals, and will be deployed across 35 units and 688 ICU beds. MetaVision’s unique functionality will help the Government of Alberta to standardize care and enforce protocols and best practices.

Ikazia Ziekenhuis in the Netherlands has gone live with MetaVision in their OR. With MetaVision successfully installed in the hospital’s ICU since the beginning of 2010, Ikazia Ziekenhuis now provides patients with a complete continuum of care.

Salzburger Landeskliniken Universitätsklinikum (SALK) in Austria has gone live with MetaVision in 10 additional OR beds and 12 additional PACU beds. The system has been successfully implemented in SALK's ICU, OR and PACU since August 2011. Further plans include implementation in their Neonatal ICU and their Intermediate ICU.

Kliniken Maria Hilf in Mönchengladbach, Germany has gone live with MetaVision in 52 ICU beds. With MetaVision successfully implemented in their OR since January, the hospital now enjoys a continuum of care across the two departments.

Boston Children's Hospital has gone live with MetaVision in 56 ORs. The hospital is the #1 ranked pediatric hospital nationwide (2012-13 edition of Best Children's Hospitals, U.S. News & World Report) and is the primary teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School.

The hospital was recently awarded a CHKS Top 40 Hospitals award covering safety, clinical effectiveness, health outcomes, efficiency, patient experience and quality of care. CHKS is an independent provider of healthcare intelligence and quality improvement services in the UK. iMDsoft and Fukuda Denshi UK cooperated to bring about this solution, which bundles MetaVision and the Dynascope DS8500 multi parameter modular patient monitor, designed for the high demands of modern critical care.

Universitätsspital Basel has chosen MetaVision for its Cardiovascular Engineering unit. The hospital was impressed with MetaVision’s support for perfusionist workflow, which they saw in action at Bad Krozingen Heart Center in Germany. Universitätsspital Basel recently implemented MetaVision in their ICU, which was an additional factor in its selection.

A new academic study done by The Johns Hopkins Hospital concludes that data provided by MetaVision can help optimize blood management, and has the potential to “enhance patient safety, reduce costs, and conserve blood, a valuable and scarce resource.” An analysis of data acquired by MetaVision revealed significant variation in blood usage among surgical services and surgical procedures, and among individual anesthesiologists and surgeons. This data may be used for standardizing transfusion practices and as the basis of a quality improvement program. Additionally, these findings can be used to predict intraoperative requirements, preventing the costly mistake of ordering more blood products than necessary (Anesthesiology, Apr 23 2012 [Epub ahead of print]).

The Townsville Hospital in Queensland, Australia went live with MetaVision in its ICU. This is the third implementation in a state-wide agreement with the Government of Queensland for installing MetaVision across the state’s network of hospitals.

Emsey Hospital in Istanbul, Turkey chose MetaVision as the Patient Data Management System (PDMS) for their ICU. The brand new hospital, which opened its doors this week, was built as part of a plan by Turkey’s Ministry of Health to expand critical care services in the country. In line with this initiative, 35% of the beds in Emsey Hospital belong to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). iMDsoft and Synapsis cooperated to bring about this solution.

Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts went live with additional MetaVision functionality. The hospital had successfully implemented the MetaVision Anesthesia Information Management System (AIMS) in May 2010, and now decided to customize the system to support intra-op nursing documentation. This additional capability streamlines workflow for nurses by including items such as pre-op and intra-op nursing assessments, instrument counts and patient positioning. As a result, the hospital eliminated the need for double charting for anesthesia and intra-op nursing documentation, and is able to create more complete patient records.

Hôpitaux Universitaires de Genève (HUG) in Switzerland has gone live with MetaVision in the first of nine ORs that will be installing the system. MetaVision will be implemented in 163 beds across the hospital’s ORs and post anesthesia care units.

A study done at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals National Health Service Foundation Trust (STH), UK, found that using MetaVision, critical care pharmacists made a significant number of medication recommendations, and these recommendation had a high acceptance rate (>90%) by medical staff. Pharmacists and medical staff both used a Pharmacy Review Form (PRF) to electronically document, communicate and follow-up proactive medication recommendations. According to the study (International Journal of Clinical Pharmacy, February 2012), MetaVision “improves communication between both professional groups within the critical care team, and supports clinical practice including remote review of patients over multiple sites.”

Highland Hospital of Eksjö in Sweden went live with MetaVision in their OR, Pre-op, PACU & X-Ray units. With MetaVision previously implemented in the hospital’s ICU, Highland Hospital of Eksjö now provides patients with a complete continuum of care. This implementation completes a multi-site project with Jönköping County Council, enabling the council to standardize care and enforce best practices and protocols across its institutions.

Fakultní Nemocnice Královské Vinohrady (FNKV) in Prague, the Czech Republic, has gone live with MetaVision in 22 ICUs and one OR. The hospital customized the system so that it automatically calculates TISS 76 (Therapeutic Intervention Scoring System) scores. This is the first implementation of MetaVision in the Czech Republic.

Meir Medical Center of the Clalit Health System in Israel went live with MetaVision in its PICU. MetaVision is already successfully installed in the hospital’s general ICU and NICU.

Ryhov Country Hospital in Sweden went live with MetaVision in 70 beds in their Pre-Op, OR and PACU units. With MetaVision previously implemented in the hospital’s ICU, Ryhov Country Hospital now provides patients with a complete continuum of care. This implementation is part of a multi-site agreement with Jönköping County Council, which has chosen MetaVision for Ryhov Country Hospital, Highland Hospital of Eksjö, and Värnamo Hospital.

A study performed at Hadassah-Hebrew University Medical Center in Israel found that using context-sensitive mandatory fields in MetaVision was associated with high record completeness rate and data concordance, enabling complete anesthesia records for 99.6% cases. Additionally, implementation of MetaVision was deemed successful by 98% of the anesthesiologists, who found using MetaVision to be more comfortable than paper-based records. MetaVision’s usability was rated as high, and the forms’ design as comfortable.

MetaVision has completed Connectathon testing of the Device Observation Consumer IHE actor in the Device Enterprise IHE Communication profile. iMDsoft takes a proactive approach to system integration and information exchange across departments systems and devices. Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri went live with MetaVision. The system was implemented in 62 beds in the hospital’s pre-op, OR and recovery units. This implementation joins Barnes-Jewish Hospital, which is also part of BJC HealthCare, one of the largest nonprofit health care organizations in the United States. Additional roll-outs of MetaVision are planned for other BJC HealthCare facilities.

Albemarle Hospital in North Carolina went live with MetaVision. The system was implemented in 12 ORs.

Robert-Bosch-Krankenhaus (RBK) in Stuttgart, Germany has chosen MetaVision for its critical care and perioperative environments. The hospital is made up of three sites with 935 beds, and treats over 38,000 patients from the Stuttgart region annually. iMDsoft and iSOFT cooperated to bring about this solution.

OLV Ziekenhuis in Aalst, Belgium went live with MetaVision in its ICU and CCU. This implementation is part of the Nexuz Health project, an initiative designed to provide eight Belgian hospitals with a single, integrated electronic medical record (EMR) system. This initiative is driven by UZ Leuven, which has been using MetaVision since 2006.

The Prince Charles Hospital in Queensland, Australia went live with MetaVision in its ICU. This is the second implementation in a state-wide agreement with the Government of Queensland for installing MetaVision across the state’s network of 14 public hospitals.

The Centre Hospitalier de Niort in France went live with MetaVision in its ICU. MetaVision interfaces with multiple Hospital Information Systems (HIS) and supports the medication cycle, complying with French medicine order regulation. By simplifying the process of compliance with CCAM billing codes, MetaVision will significantly increase the percentage of billable procedures.

IPC Marseille in France went live with MetaVision in its OR and PACU. Having successfully implemented MetaVision in their intensive care unit four years ago, the hospital now has a continuum of data across their perioperative and critical care environments. Medical Park Bahcelievler in Istanbul, Turkey went live with MetaVision in their ICU, as reported in HaberTurk.The hospital is one of the largest private hospitals belonging to the Medical Park Hospitals Group, which is made of 13 hospitals, 2 hospital complexes and 2 medical centers. This is the first MetaVision installation in Turkey, and the implementation was completed in only 9 weeks from the first site visit to Go Live day. iMDsoft and Synapsis Medical Technologies cooperated to bring about this solution.

Värnamo Hospital in Sweden went live with MetaVision in their ICU, Pre-op, OR and PACU departments. This implementation is part of the first MetaVision project in Sweden, a multi-site agreement with Jönköping County Council. Highland Hospital of Eksjö, Ryhov Country Hospital and Värnamo Hospital will implement MetaVision throughout their ICUs, ORs and PACUs, providing a complete continuum of care across the Jönköping network.

This is the first implementation of MetaVision in the CHU network, which has chosen the system for three of its hospitals: Archet 1 and 2, Saint-Roch, and Pasteur. MetaVision will be implemented in more than 230 beds or rooms across CHU’s entire continuum of care, including the preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative environments, as well as all the ICUs (medical, surgical, and step down units).

Fakultní Nemocnice Královské Vinohrady (FNKV) in Prague, the Czech Republic has chosen MetaVision as the Patient Data Management System for its ICU. The hospital selected MetaVision because of its flexibility, ease of use, ability to adapt to unit requirements, and research capabilities. This is the first sale of MetaVision in the Czech Republic. iMDsoft and Puro Klima cooperated to bring about this solution.

Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC) in the Netherlands has gone live with MV-NICU in its neonatal ICU. The system has been customized to support the unit’s unique workflow. The medical center has been successfully using MetaVision as its Patient Data Management System in its OR and ICU since 2004.

Meir Medical Center of the Clalit Health System in Israel has chosen MetaVision for their PICU. MetaVision is already successfully installed in the hospital’s general ICU and NICU.

Highland Hospital of Eksjö in Sweden went live with MetaVision in their ICU. The implementation is part of the first MetaVision project in Sweden, a multi-site agreement with Jönköping County Council. Gold Coast Hospital in Queensland, Australia has gone live with MetaVision in its intensive care unit. This is the first implementation in a state-wide agreement with the Government of Queensland for installing MetaVision across the state’s network of public hospitals, with project goals of standardization and enforcement of clinical best practices. MetaVision was selected as the single electronic patient record for the network’s 14 ICUs, replacing paper records and competing software systems. The configuration for this installation was designed by a group of ICU users from multiple disciplines across the state, and will serve as the basis for additional MetaVision implementations in the network.

Research published in Anesthesia & Analgesia shows that MetaVision decision support tools increased compliance with SCIP indicators and improved outcomes at Lehigh Valley Health Network (Allentown, PA). After implementation, compliance with documentation and administration of antibiotics within 60 minutes of surgical incision increased.

SALK in Austria has gone live with MetaVision in their ICU, OR and PACU. Further plans include implementation in their Neonatal ICU and their Intermediate ICU. Since implementing MetaVision, the hospital can now use label printers that comply with the standards of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), and which reduce the risk of medication errors. This is the first MetaVision implementation in Austria.

Carmel Medical Center of the Clalit Health System in Israel has gone live with MetaVision in their ICU and PACU. With MetaVision already installed in the hospital’s OR, patients will now benefit from a continuum of care across departments.

Meir Medical Center of the Clalit Health System in Israel has gone live with MetaVision in their general ICU. MetaVision is already installed in the hospital’s NICU, and the system will be implemented in their PICUs as well.

A recent study in the New England Journal of Medicine utilized MetaVision to assist researchers in managing the nutritional needs of critically ill patients. The study found that late parenteral nutrition was associated with fewer infections, enhanced recovery, and lower health care costs. Australian Capital Territory Chief Minister and Minister for Health, Katy Gallagher MLA, officially launched MetaVision for the ICU at Canberra Hospital, Australia. Onze Lieve Vrouw Ziekenhuis in Aalst, Belgium has chosen MetaVision as the Patient Data Management System for their ICU and CCU. The Sjælland region of Denmark has chosen MetaVision for the ICUs, NICUs, ORs and PACUs of its eleven hospitals, standardizing critical care throughout the entire region. The hospitals serve a population of 800,000 people throughout 22 cities, and admit 165,000 patients and treat 675,000 outpatients per year. Sjælland will implement MVmulti-site, which enables networks to maintain standardization and enforce best practices across institutions. This is the first region-wide implementation of MetaVision in Denmark.

Ryhov Country Hospital in Sweden went live with MetaVision in its ICU. This implementation is the first in a series of go-lives planned for the hospital over the next few weeks for approximately 90 beds spread over 7 departments. It is also the first implementation in a multi-site agreement with Jönköping County Council, which has chosen MetaVision for Ryhov Country Hospital, Highland Hospital of Eksjö, and Värnamo Hospital. The hospitals will implement MetaVision throughout their ICUs, ORs and PACUs, thereby providing a complete continuum of care across the Jönköping network. iMDsoft and SYSteam cooperated to bring about this solution.

While full-time, dedicated intensivist care in the ICU has been proven to improve outcomes and save lives, small hospitals are often unable to provide these vital services. Using MetaVision, Onze Lieve Vrouwe Gasthuis (OLVG) hospital in Amsterdam now provides 24/7 tele-intensivist monitoring for intensive care patients at MC Zuiderzee in Lelystad. Canberra Hospital in Australia went live with MetaVision in its ICU. Canberra Hospital (TCH) is an acute care teaching hospital of approximately 600 beds and is the largest public hospital in the region, supporting a population of almost 540,000. Staff within the ICU is now managing all clinical documentation electronically within MetaVision, including progress notes, medication management, assessments and observations. This project is part of the ACT (Australian Capital Territory) Government’s initiative to introduce e-health projects into the public health system.

MetaVision and the Orbit scheduling system will now be offered jointly in Scandinavia. When integrated, these systems create a seamless solution for the entire perioperative workflow, including a complete electronic case record from pre-op to the post anesthesia care unit and effective OR resource management. Rivierenland Hospital in Tiel, the Netherlands, chose MetaVision for its ICU and trauma room in the ER. Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center, one of the largest hospitals in Israel, has gone live with MetaVision in 18 ICU beds and about 35 step down beds in its NICU. The Medical Center has 1100 hospital beds, and approximately 60 departments and institutes. The installation was completed within an eight week time frame. MetaVision is now live in three departments throughout the Medical Center.

Clalit Health System, Israel, won the “People and Computers” IT Award for 2010 for its implementation of MetaVision in four NICUs across its network. According to the contest judges, the system provides NICU clinicians with the readily available, up-to-date information they need to make the best possible treatment decisions. They also noted MetaVision's ability to implement quality control measures and to enforce uniform clinical language and standards, resulting in reduced errors.

J.W. Goethe University Hospital, affiliated with Goethe-University Frankfurt am Main, has chosen MetaVision for its intensive care unit. MetaVision will be implemented in 50 ICU beds, and in 20 additional workstations in the critical care environment. The hospital has 24 specialty clinics and 4,000 employees. iMDsoft and hillus Engineering KG cooperated to bring about this agreement.

Lievensberg Hospital of Bergen op Zoom has gone live with MetaVision in its ICU, leading the way for the three other hospitals in the south-west Netherlands that are in the process of implementing iMDsoft’s solution. Amphia Hospital of Breda, another MetaVision customer and one of the largest general hospitals in the Netherlands, now has remote access to Lievensberg’s records. As a result, Lievensberg’s patients will benefit from specialist consultancy provided by Amphia’s intensivists when necessary.

Mindray, China's largest medical device manufacturer, with a 40% market share, will now sell only clinical information systems by iMDsoft, and will be the sole distributor of MetaVision in China. Mindray, which is a major global player, will additionally distribute MetaVision in 10 countries in Europe, Africa, and Asia.

iMDsoft has signed a distribution agreement with Anesthesia Business Consultants (ABC), the largest physician billing and practice management company specializing exclusively in the practice of anesthesia and pain management. Under the new agreement, ABC will offer MetaVision to its customers, including several thousand anesthesiologists and CRNAs, while iMDsoft will offer ABC technology as part of its fully integrated end-to-end solution for the perioperative environment.

The West Suffolk Hospital NHS Trust has gone live with MetaVision in its ICU and HDU, replacing a system by another vendor.

Israel’s largest NICU, at University-affiliated Soroka Medical Center has gone live with MetaVision. The NICU went live with 25 beds, with another 40 step-down beds are in the pipleline. This is the fourth implementation of MetaVision at a NICU belonging to Clalit Health System.

Albert Schweitzer Hospital of Dordrecht and St Franciscus Ziekenhuis of Roosendaal in the Netherlands have chosen to implement iMDsoft's MetaVision in their ICUs.

Leeuwarden Medical Center has gone live with with MetaVision in its ICU. MetaVision has been used in the hospital's OR since 2006, and is planned for rollout to the ER, which will result in the system being operational across all Leeuwarden critical care departments. iMDsoft and ItéMedical cooperated on this implementation.

Edith Wolfson Medical Centre, a 650 bed hospital located in Hulon, Israel has gone live with MetaVision in its general ICU.

Children's Hospital Boston, MA, USA, has chosen MetaVision for implementation in all its anesthetizing locations. The hospital, ranked among the foremost pediatric institutions in the country by U.S. News & World Report, is home to the world's largest research enterprise based at a pediatric medical center. With other hospitals within the Harvard teaching group, including Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women’s, already using MetaVision, this implementation opens the door to potential benchmarking for quality assurance and research collaboration across the network.

Sydney Adventist Hospital (SAN), the largest not-for-profit private hospital in New South Wales, Australia, has gone live with MetaVision in its Coronary Care Unit and ICU, which admit a total of 2700 patients annually. The system was customized to meet the complex workflow of these units, and was well received by the multidisciplinary team of users.

Deputy ICU Director, Sydney University Professor Dr. Simon Finfer said "I was struck by how intuitive this system is. It is user friendly and allows us to concentrate on the patients. The system’s ability to adapt the workflow of the hospital, and integrate seamlessly with current and planned IT investments was an additional differentiating factor from other products on the market.

iMDsoft announces the release of MVdashboard - a dynamic tool which displays clinical metrics graphically, transforming patient data into actionable information. The Government of Queensland has signed an agreement to install MetaVision in selected ICUs across the state’s network of public hospitals. MetaVision will be installed in 14 hospitals and will be implemented in a diverse range of ICU settings including pediatric, neurology and cardiac units. The university-affiliated Gold Coast Hospital will be the first to implement MetaVision under this agreement.

Niels Stensen Kliniken health system has chosen to implement MetaVision in six hospitals in northern Germany. Marienhospital, a 545-bed hospital in Osnabruck will be the first to implement the system, installing MetaVision in 130 beds, covering OR, ICU, IMC and PACU. iMDsoft and iSOFT cooperated to bring about this solution.

Children's Hospital Boston, one of the largest and most comprehensive pediatric hospitals in the US has chosen to implement MetaVision AIMS in its perioperative environment. The hospital is the world's largest research enterprise based at a pediatric medical center, and is ranked first in the US for more specialties than any other children's hospital (U.S. News & World Report). MetaVision will be implemented across 52 pre-op beds and 56 operating rooms. 

King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, one of London’s largest and busiest teaching hospitals has gone live with iMDsoft’s MetaVision suite in its 16-bed pediatric critical care unit. Macquarie University Hospital in Sydney, Australia has opened its doors with MetaVision live in its ICU, CCU, OR and PACU. MetaVision supports the continuum of care between the clinical departments. The brand new, 183-bed, facility is Australia’s first and only university private hospital.

The Australian Capital Territory Department of Health has chosen to implement MetaVision in two hospitals. The Canberra Hospital and Calvary Hospital will both implement the system in their ICUs. Using MetaVision's single platform and staging mechanism will enable the hospitals to maintain uniformity in the structure of their data, and to enforce protocols and best practices. Read more

Hospital de Txagorritxu, Vitoria, an innovative healthcare provider in the Basque region of Spain, has implemented MetaVision in their ICU.

Gentofte University Hospital, Hellerup, Denmark, has gone live with MetaVision in its newly-built, state-of-the-art, ICU. The ICU at Gentofte treats many patients from the Hospital's department for invasive cardiology, the second largest department of its kind in Denmark.

 The Royal Hospital for Sick Children of the NHS Lothian, Edinburgh, UK, has gone live with MetaVision in its Pediatric ICU.

 The University of Maryland Medical Center, a major, innovative teaching hospital in Baltimore, went live this week with MetaVision. The Hospital is implementing MetaVision in its 55-bed OR.

Schneider Children’s Medical Center, Israel’s leading specialist hospital for children and adolescents, has gone live with MetaVision in their 29-bed Pediatric Cardiac ICU. This deployment follows successful implementation of MetaVision in the hospital’s ICU and OR.

Hospitals Van Weel Bethesda and Ruwaard van Putten in the Netherlands went live with MetaVision in their ICUs this week. The hospitals now use MetaVision’s Distributed Database mechanism to cooperate with Maasstad Hospital, with the three hospitals using a single pool of intensivists. This will enable the ICUs of Van Weel Bethesda and Ruwaard van Putten to move from level 1 to level 2, under the Dutch intensive care classification system.

A study recently published in the European Journal of Anaesthesiology shows a dramatic increase in adherence to prophylaxis administration guidelines using MetaVision, at OLVG hospital. Using MetaVision decision support tools, the Hospital was able to increase timely delivery of both dexamethasone and granisetron from 39% to 79%. The study concluded “decision support is effective in improving administration and timing of PONV prophylaxis medication”.

The Johns Hopkins Hospital, consistently ranked by U.S. News & World Report as the number one hospital in the United States, has gone live with the MetaVision Anesthesia Information Management System in 39 operating rooms. MetaVision impacts the OR workflow and documentation processes and will provide powerful decision support tools to improve adherence to internal protocols and regulatory guidelines. Rollouts for the Wilmer Eye Institute and Johns Hopkins Outpatient Center (JHOC) are upcoming, with additional implementations in the pipeline.

Weissenfels Klinik of The Asklepios Group, the largest private hospital operator in Europe, has gone live this week with MetaVision in its ICU, intermediate care beds and for remote access and administration. A dedicated interface will enable the hospital to improve revenue capture and financial reporting based on DRG.   

A recent Critical Care article demonstrates how larger ICUs, typically with lower mortality rates, can use MetaVision to support smaller ICUs within their region. Intensivists from OLVG log into the MetaVision system of NKI-AVL, and review the detailed patient records. During a conference call between the two hospitals, the intensivists evaluate and optimize all aspects of the treatment. Telemedicine now enables specialized 24 hour care to NKI-AVL patients, in compliance with national care guidelines.

Hospital José Joaquim Fernandes in Beja, Portugal, has gone live with the first implementation of MetaVision in the country. The hospital is the region's major public and reference hospital, providing specialist and acute care to 230,000 people. MetaVision was implemented in the hospital’s ICU operating rooms and in the post anesthesia care units (PACUs).

Gentofte University Hospital, Hellerup, Denmark, has selected MetaVision to replace Philips CareVue for implementation in its newly-built, state-of-the-art, ICU. The hospital's department for invasive cardiology is Denmark's second largest, and many of its patients are treated in the ICU. Medidane, iMDsoft's distributor in Denmark, was instrumental in achieving this agreement.

The Royal Sussex County Hospital, part of the 1,140-bed Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust, UK, which provides healthcare services to a local population of 460,000, will extend the use of MetaVision to their 21-bed NICU. MetaVision was deployed in the cardiothoracic ORs and ICUs at Royal Sussex in February 2009. iMDsoft and its partner, Fukuda Denshi UK, cooperated to deliver this solution.

Ruwaard van Putten Ziekenhuis, Spijkenisse, and Van Weel-Bethesda Ziekenhuis, Dirksland, the Netherlands, have selected to jointly implement MetaVision in their ICUs. Together with the Maasstad Hospital, which already has MetaVision installed in their 16-bed ICU, the hospitals will use MetaVision's innovative staging mechanism to share the same application, thereby ensuring data standardization across ICUs in all three institutions. iMDsoft and ItéMedical partnered on this solution.

Following its implementation of MV-OR, one of the largest non-university hospitals in the Netherlands, with 700 beds, Medisch Centrum Leeuwarden (MCL), the Netherlands, will deploy MetaVision in 30 Intensive and Medium Care beds. iMDsoft and ItéMedical cooperated to bring about this solution.

Healthcare IT News reports that Brigham and Women's Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital are deploying iMDsoft’s MetaVision to transition from paper to electronic medical records in their intensive and general care environments. This will help push the hospitals closer to Stage 7, the top level of the HIMSS Analytics EMR Adoption Model, whereby institutions operate in a truly paperless environment. The final goal is enabling acute care documentation across the board for inpatient services. Ziekenhuis De Tjongerschans, Heerenveen, went live with MetaVision in their 8-bed ICU and Nij Smellinghe, Drachten, went live with 6 beds in their ICU.
The two hospitals implemented MetaVision concurrently and in close cooperation with our existing customer, Antonius Ziekenhuis, Sneek. The project is part of a larger effort to advance cooperation between the three ICU departments.

The 24 ICU beds at the Centre Hospitalier Hôpital Saint-Jean, Perpignan, France, have gone live with MetaVision.

Centre Hospitalier de Luxembourg (CHL) continued their roll out of MetaVision with go-lives in the operating and recovery rooms of Hôpital Municipal, and the ICU, operating and recovery rooms of the Clinique d'Eich.

• Sint Maartenskliniek, Nijmegen, a hospital specializing in orthopedics, went live in all of their 6 operating rooms and 11 pre-op beds.
• Waterlandziekenhuis (WLZ), Purmerend, went live with 9 beds, covering their entire ICU department. This go-live concludes the joint implementation project of WLZ and the neighboring Zaans Medisch Centrum in Zaandam, which went live earlier this year.
• Ziekenhuis Sint Jansdal in Harderwijk went live with 10 ICU beds. This covers their entire ICU and Medium Care departments.

MetaVision was recently spotlighted in a video news report by Detroit local news channel, Local 4, about its use in the intensive care unit at the Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit, MI. The segment demonstrates how MetaVision is used to improve care by remotely tracking patients in the ICU.

MetaVision has been implemented throughout BJC HealthCare of St. Louis, MO, one of America’s largest nonprofit health care organizations. All pre-op and post-op beds for nursing documentation are now live with MetaVision. The Center for Preoperative Assessment and Planning (CPAP) is the final go-live. Thousands of patients visit CPAP in preparation for surgery at BJC.

Sydney Adventist Hospital, New South Wales’s largest single-campus private hospital, has chosen MetaVision for its Intensive Care and Coronary Care units. This will mark the first MetaVision implementation in Australia.

MetaVision has gone live at Saint Vincent Hospital, a Vanguard Health Systems hospital, located in Worcester, MA. The 348-bed acute care hospital has deployed MetaVision in its 37-bed Intensive Care Unit. MetaVision replaced a system from another major vendor.

The roll-out of MetaVision continues across BJC HealthCare of St. Louis, MO, one of America’s largest nonprofit health care organizations. MetaVision went live in the nurse pre-op and post-op local sedation (hybrid) room and in the offsite Remote/ECT site.

BJC HealthCare continues to roll out MetaVision across its hospital complex with this latest implementation in its L&D unit. BJC HealthCare, one of the largest nonprofit health care organizations in the United States, serves the greater St. Louis region.

St. Louis, MO-based BJC HealthCare’s Center for Advanced Medicine went live with MetaVision for nursing documentation in their 35-bed pre-op and PACU locations. Nij Smellinghe Drachten in the Netherlands has chosen MetaVision for its ICU. They will implement MetaVision in close cooperation with two other iMDsoft customers, De Tjongerschans, Heerenveen, and Antonius Ziekenhuis, Sneek. Holmes Hospital of the University Hospital (UCMC) in Cincinnati, Ohio, has gone live with MetaVision in 5 ORs.

When the 300-bed Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital, Detroit, Michigan, opened its doors on March 15, iMDsoft’s MetaVision went live on its 12 Adult ICU and 7 NICU beds. 12 additional Adult beds will be added this summer.

iMDsoft has entered into a marketing and sales collaboration with Unibased Systems Architecture to provide the most comprehensive perioperative information system available to hospitals in North America.

In an effort to enhance interoperability between MetaVision and various healthcare provider systems as well as personal health records (PHR), iMDsoft now supports the HL7 Continuity of Care Document (CCD) standard. The CCD contains a patient summary and the core data set of the most relevant administrative, demographic, and clinical information facts about a patient's. This will allow physicians to send patient information from MetaVision to personal health records without loss of meaning, ultimately resulting in improved patient care.

 Two UK hospitals have implemented iMDsoft's MetaVision:

• The Christie Hospital in Manchester, UK, has gone live with MetaVision in its general ICU.
• The Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton, United Kingdom, went live with MetaVision in its cardiothoracic ORs and ICUs. The system has been operational in the hospital's general ICU since 2002.

Following the success of its initial installation last year, Maasstad Ziekenhuis (formerly known as MCRZ, Medisch Centrum Rijnmond Zuid), Rotterdam, the Netherlands, is expanding its MetaVision installation to cover all beds in its general ICU.

•  In light of the success of MetaVision in its cardiothoracic ICUs and ORs, Medisch Spectrum Twente, Enschede, the Netherlands, is expanding its MetaVision installation into its general ICU.
• Zaans Medisch Centrum and Waterland Ziekenhuis Purmerend, the Netherlands, are merging their general ICUs and are set to install MetaVision together to facilitate standardization of their critical data.

iMDsoft and ItéMedical partnered to deliver these solutions.

MetaVision was chosen by the Hadassah Medical Organization, Ein Kerem, Jerusalem, Israel, for their ICU. The iMDsoft system is already in use in their operating rooms.

Schneider Children’s Medical Center of Petah Tikva, Israel, has selected MetaVision for its operating rooms and PACUs.

Gelre Ziekenhuizen, Apeldoorn, the Netherlands, has chosen MetaVision for implementation across its entire perioperative and critical care environment, including ORs, PACUs, medium care units, and ICUs. The implementation process should be completed during Q3 2009, at which time the hospital will achieve a complete data continuum via MetaVision. The solution was provided in cooperation with ItéMedical, iMDsoft's distributor in the Netherlands.

The 18-bed general ICU of the Centre Hospitalier de Luxembourg has gone live MV-ICU, iMDsoft's solution for intensive care units.

Partners HealthCare has selected iMDsoft's MetaVision as the acute care and perioperative clinical information platform for its two academic medical centers, Brigham & Women’s and Massachusetts General Hospital, both ranked among America's ten best hospitals by U.S. News & World Report.

Saint Vincent Hospital, a Vanguard Health Systems hospital, located in Worcester, MA, has signed a cooperative agreement with iMDsoft. The 348-bed acute care hospital will deploy MetaVision in its 37-bed Intensive Care Unit. The choice of MetaVision replaces a system from another major vendor.

Englewood Hospital and Medical Center, New Jersey, has chosen iMDsoft's MetaVision clinical information system and will be using a phased rollout to install it across its entire perioperative and critical care environment, including ORs, PACUs, and ICUs.

iMDsoft announced another deal in the Netherlands as St. Elisabeth Hospital Tilburg opted for MetaVision as its clinical information system of choice for the entire critical care and perioperative continuum. iMDsoft and ItéMedical cooperated to provide the solution.

The following sites have recently gone live with the MetaVision Suite:

• Medisch Centrum Rijnmond Zuid, Rotterdam, the Netherlands, in its general ICU. Following this successful implementation, the hospital is currently considering expanding MetaVision to cover all its ICU beds.
• HagaZiekenhuis (Haga Teaching Hospital), Den Haag, the Netherlands, in its general ICU.
• Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center, Israel, in its perioperative environment. The implementation of MVOR reflects the Medical Center's drive to build a continuum of care across the critical care environment - MVICU, iMDsoft's solution for intensive care units, was implemented at the hospital in June of 2004.
• Klinikum der Universität Regensburg, Germany, an expansion of its existing installation of MVICU. The MetaVision Suite has now been in use in the hospital for some five years.
• The Clinique et Maternité Sainte-Elisabeth (CMSE), Namur, Belgium, a three-hundred bed general hospital, has selected MVICU for its general ICU. This marks iMDsoft's first deal in Francophone Belgium.
• The Christie Hospital in Manchester, UK, one of Europe's leading centers for the treatment of cancer, has chosen iMDsoft's MVICU for implementation in its intensive care environment.
   

The Emek Medical Center, Afula, Israel, has gone live with MVICU, iMDsoft's solution for intensive care units, in its general ICU. This is the first stage in a process that will result in MetaVision being implemented throughout the hospital's intensive care and perioperative environments: MVOR is set to go live in the OR there early in Q4 this year.

The Sana Klinikum Lichtenberg, Berlin, Germany, a teaching hospital of the Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin and a member of the Sana group, has gone live with MVICU in its ICU. This is the first stage in a rollout that will see additional ICU beds implemented early in Q3 2008 and OR and recovery rooms going live by the end of the year.

Centre Hospitalier Lyon Sud, Lyon, France, part of the Hospices Civils de Lyon group, has gone live with MVICU, iMDsoft's solution for intensive care units, in its general ICU.

HagaZiekenhuis (Haga Teaching Hospital), Den Haag, the Netherlands, has chosen MetaVision for implementation in its ICUs and ORs. The institution is one of the largest general hospitals in the Netherlands, with over over 3,500 staff, including 210 medical specialists. iMDsoft and ItéMedical allied on the sale.

Universitair Medical Center Utrecht (UMCU), the Netherlands, has continued its rollout of MVICU into its pediatric and neonatal ICUs. MetaVision has been operating in the hospital's adult ICU since November of last year.

Akershus University Hospital (AHUS), Oslo, Norway, has commenced the MetaVision rollout at its new site with go-lives in its day surgery and post-op department; additional go-lives in the central operation department and neonatal ICU are in the pipeline. AHUS has been using MetaVision in its existing general ICU since 2000, and that implementation will also be transferred to the new site in Q4 2008. A recent Norwegian-language article on the hospital's website discusses these developments and AHUS's very positive experience with MetaVision over the years.

University Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio, ranked by US News & World Report as one of America’s Best Hospitals, has chosen MVOR, iMDsoft's anesthesia information management system, for its operating rooms. St. Antonius Hospital, Nieuwegein, the Netherlands, has expanded use of MVICU, iMDsoft's solution for intensive care units, into its PACU department, an additional step in the process of using MetaVision to establish a full continuum of care throughout its perioperative environment.

The March 2008 edition of Anesthesia & Analgesia features a study undertaken in the anesthesiology departments of OLVG and AMC, Amsterdam, which concludes that the electronic decision support offered by MetaVision increases guidelines adherence for the prescription of PONV prophylaxis in high-risk PONV patients.

The Elkerliek Hospital, Helmond, the Netherlands, has gone live with MetaVision in its general ICU, the second phase of a stepwise implementation that will enable it to achieve a complete data continuum in its critical care environment via MetaVision. The hospital's OR has been using MVOR since September of last year.

The Academic Hospital, University of Amsterdam (AMC), the Netherlands, one of Holland's top reference hospitals, has gone live with MVOR, iMDsoft's solution for the perioperative arena, in its OR polyclinic and recovery rooms. MetaVision has been operational at AMC since early 2002.

Soroka University Medical Center, Beer-Sheba, Israel, has gone live with MVICU in its medical and pediatric ICUs, thereby completing the multi-unit stepwise implementation it commenced in Q1 2007, which had already covered its general, neuro, and cardiothoracic ICUs.

The St. Barbara Klinik in Heessen-Hamm, Germany, has implemented MVICU, iMDsoft's solution for intensive care units, in its surgical ICU. This follows the ongoing success of the implementations of MetaVision in multiple St. Franziskus Stiftung hospitals.

iMDsoft has announced a joint distribution agreement with ErgoGroup AS, a leading Nordic information technology services company. This partnership expands iMDsoft ’s presence in Scandinavia and support for the MetaVision Suite of clinical information systems through ErgoGroup’s operations, consulting services, and network of local offices in Norway and Sweden.

Kaplan Medical Center, Rehovot, Israel, has gone live with MVICU, iMDsoft's solution for intensive care units, in its Neonatal ICU. The go-live in Kaplan Medical Center is the first implementation in the overall agreement with Clalit Health Services - Israel's largest HMO - to install MVICU in all neonatal units.

Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, has partnered with iMDsoft to deploy the MetaVision anesthesia information management system (MVOR) across 66 operating rooms (ORs) and 102 preoperative and post-anesthesia care units (PACU) beds. iMDsoft's clinical decision support and analysis tools coupled with its 100 percent implementation success rate were key factors in Barnes-Jewish Hospital's selection of MetaVision.
