Successful first stage of major rollout Paris, France
The University Hospital of Rennes has successfully commenced deployment of MetaVision from iMDsoft, a leading provider of clinical information systems. After seven months of production use in the pediatric resuscitation department, CHU Rennes sees the benefits of the MetaVision software package in terms of quality of care and patient follow-up, and has continued its deployment in the neonatal resuscitation unit
The University Hospital of Rennes, a center of excellence in the Brittany region, has 4 sites and more than 1,800 beds. The hospital treats half a million patients annually and remains a benchmark in health research, with over a thousand clinical studies in 2016. It will implement MetaVision in its pediatric and neonatal adult resuscitation, for a total of over one hundred and thirty beds.
The MetaVision PDMS is being implemented across all the intensive care units and high dependency units. In parallel, MetaVision SafeTrack, our mobile electronic observation system, is being rolled across all general wards. UHS will benefit from having a single patient observation record across all clinical areas, ensuring a complete continuum of care hospital-wide.
They will be using the system all the pre-op, intra-op and post-op units of their three hospitals: Grabs, Altstätten and Walenstadt. SR RWS was impressed with MetaVision’s multi-site capability: its distributed database architecture enables networks to maintain uniformity and enforce clinical best practices across institutions.
AZ Sint-Jan Brugge-Oostende now has electronic patient records in over 50 ICU beds, joining UZ Leuven, AZ Groeninge Kortrijk, OLV Ziekenhuis Aalst, AZ Sint-Lucas and AZ Turnhout in using MetaVision. Benefits for these hospitals include centralised management, standardisation of workflows and fast implementation.

MetaVision SafeTrack is live on the Trauma and Orthopaedic, Surgery and Gynaecology wards (320 level 1 beds) and will next be implemented across Medicine as part of the hospital-wide rollout. Using mobile devices, nurses of all grades capture observations for their patients directly onto MetaVision SafeTrack, which calculates the MEWS (Modified Early Warning Score) and advises the next appropriate steps regarding escalation and observation frequency. Clinicians can review the observational data from any UHS PC, laptop, iPad or iPod, as well as any personal device connected to the hospital Wi-Fi.
