Clinical decision support

MV-OR uses accumulated patient data to enhance clinical decision-making. The Event Manager constantly scans the patient record and sends timely notifications of changes in patient status, lack of compliance with protocols, or billing Issues. This functionality helps to increase the promptness and quality of treatment decisions and improves the adherence to internal protocols and regulatory guidelines.

Research and analysis

MV-OR offers clinicians a rich data resource for their clinical research projects. The Query Wizard enables clinicians without programming knowledge to easily define and run complex queries on the MetaVision patient database to further enhance patient safety, care quality, and departmental financial performance.

Configurability

MV-OR can be configured to suit unit needs and the entire range of user types, protocols, and workflows. It is fully customizable from the level of drug ingredients up to complete procedure-specific layouts. All basic and display elements can be controlled to reflect specific needs such as safety initiatives. The clinical decision support tools are also fully configurable on an ongoing basis to allow for low-cost enforcement of government, payor and hospital protocols. Hospitals will also benefit from MV-OR’s standard functions library, which leverages iMDsoft’s many years of experience in the perioperative environment.

Data continuity across the continuum of care

MV-OR provides a full patient record across the entire continuum of acute care, offering healthcare professionals an integrated view of all patient data. Patient information from current and previous sessions is presented in one continuous flowsheet spanning multiple units – from the ICU through step-down or general medical/surgical wards to the pre-, intra-, and post-op environments. Whether patients are scheduled for surgery or enter the perioperative environment through an ICU, using MetaVision means that the entire patient record is available.

Full integration with healthcare IT infrastructure

MV-OR has been designed with great emphasis on interoperability with existing and planned HIS investments. It interfaces with all typical hospital systems, such as ADT, Labs, CPOE, billing, scheduling, PACS, and LDAP, while fully complementing the hospital’s overall IT strategy. The MetaVision library of drivers contains over 200 medical devices, including those most prevalent in the current market. Additional drivers are continually being developed to meet customer requirements.
