Visit the tabs below to find out how MetaVision achieves these goals throughout your workflow:
Admission
Registering a new patient
Registering a new patient is quick and easy: simply enter the patient ID into the Patient Registration Form or scan their wristband to have it entered automatically. This triggers automatic data retrieval from the ADT and initiates the inflow of signals from peripheral devices.

Documenting Admission notes
Document your admission notes using interactive forms that help you enter data quickly, effectively, and in detail. Your notes may be entered into a fully-customized template using predefined dropdown lists. They may also be web-enabled, meaning that clinicians may access and use them from any remote location that has internet access. Your colleagues can easily browse through past Notes created for the patient, while administrators can effortlessly compose new templates or adapt existing ones.
Documenting diagnosis
MetaVision includes embedded ICD-9 and ICD-10 modules that contain all the listed entries, as well as a customizable platform to add new codes. Additionally, the multidisciplinary Problem List lets clinicians accurately document problem types based on unit-defined lists, such as medical, nursing, physical therapist or social worker.
Patient assessment
Reviewing the patient chart
Reviewing patient charts is easy with MetaVision. Multiple layouts facilitate an unlimited number of views that cater to specific clinical disciplines and patient circumstances. The system’s flexible display lets you design data views incorporating all the information you need on one screen– vital signs, lab results, X-rays and more – and in the format you prefer – tables or graphs. This means you can create specific views containing only the data you need for the physician’s round or infection review, for instance. You can add and remove elements, change time resolutions and zoom in on specific trended data for chronological review.
Calculating scores and patient intake
MetaVision helps assess patient progress by automatically calculating the entire range of clinical scores. It also performs calculations such as patient fluid balance, ensuring accuracy and saving you time. The system can aggregate totals from each intake/outtake source and combine all sources to display changing current totals.
Identifying changes in patient condition
MetaVision provides powerful decision support tools to help improve patient safety and support quality improvements. One such tool is the Event Manager, which monitors changes in patient condition or lack of compliance with protocols by sending notifications to the relevant staff when a predefined set of conditions is met. Notifications can be configured as onscreen, email or text messages.
Treatment plan
Practicing safe order prescription
In MetaVision’s prescribing module, you can plan all types of treatments for a patient, using links to Internet data sources and pharmacy safety guidelines. MetaVision highlights allergies, out of range medication doses, and other patient safety issues. Before you commit to your treatment plan, MetaVision assists you by simulating the expected impact on the patient. The system supports co-signature requirements for additional supervision of safety and costs.
Documenting drug administration
Executing physician orders
MetaVision generates a to-do list based on the patient treatment plan. It will issue reminders for on-time delivery and prompt you to confirm medication administration. The shift change order list makes it easy for you to see what’s going on at a glance when you come on duty.
The Drug-Allergy module quickly identifies drugs known to cause clinically significant allergic reactions. You can access pharmacy safety guidelines from the system and mandate co-signature requirements for blood and medications based on hospital policy. In addition, you can review and titrate running fluids and medications using a special orders view. Any change that you make is immediately and automatically reflected throughout the patient record.
Documenting observations and shift summaries
MetaVision supports your multidisciplinary team’s documentation needs. Dedicated Notes, Forms and Reports save you time recording your observations. They can be automatically populated with data from the patient Flowsheet and also support manual entry in free text, check box selections and drop down menus.
Discharging a patient
With MetaVision, discharging a patient is quick and easy. Forms tailored to your department’s requirements are automatically populated with information captured by MetaVision during the patient’s stay. You simply review and edit the material, add your future care recommendations, then click to discharge the patient. Mandatory fields ensure that discharge only takes place after all required information is entered. MetaVision then saves and prints a complete discharge report Third party reports for general wards or private practitioners, for instance, are also easy to configure and produce when needed.

Research and analysis
MetaVision significantly contributes to research and analysis, by incorporating tools that take advantage of the vast data repository of data that is generated over time. The Query Wizard enables clinicians to easily define and run complex queries on MetaVision’s patient database for research purposes. This research is typically used to further improve patient safety, care quality and financial performance.
