Ryhov Country Hospital in Sweden goes live with MetaVision in additional units

Ryhov Country Hospital in Sweden went live with MetaVision in 70 beds in their Pre-Op, OR and PACU units. With MetaVision previously implemented in the hospital’s ICU, Ryhov Country Hospital now provides patients with a complete continuum of care. This implementation is part of a multi-site agreement with Jönköping County Council, which has chosen MetaVision for Ryhov Country Hospital, Highland Hospital of Eksjö, and Värnamo Hospital.

 

MetaVision delivers complete anesthesia records for 99.6% cases

23 January 2012

A study performed at Hadassah-Hebrew University Medical Center in Israel found that using context-sensitive mandatory fields in MetaVision was associated with high record completeness rate and data concordance, enabling complete anesthesia records for 99.6% cases. Additionally, implementation of MetaVision was deemed successful by 98% of the anesthesiologists, who found using MetaVision to be more comfortable than paper-based records. MetaVision’s usability was rated as high, and the forms’ design as comfortable.

Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital in Missouri goes live with MetaVision

Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri went live with MetaVision. The system was implemented in 62 beds in the hospital’s pre-op, OR and recovery units. This implementation joins Barnes-Jewish Hospital, which is also part of BJC HealthCare, one of the largest nonprofit health care organizations in the United States. Additional roll-outs of MetaVision are planned for other BJC HealthCare facilities.

Centre Hospitalier Universitaire de Nice, France, goes live with its 1st installation of MetaVision

Hospital Archet 1 and 2, part of the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire de Nice (CHU) in France, has gone live with MetaVision in its ICU. The system was customized to facilitate compliance with CCAM billing codes, which will significantly increase the percentage of billable procedures and reduce time spent on coding. This is the first implementation of MetaVision in the CHU network, which has chosen the system for three of its hospitals: Archet 1 and 2, Saint-Roch, and Pasteur. MetaVision will be implemented in more than 230 beds or rooms across CHU’s entire continuum of care, including the preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative environments, as well as all the ICUs (medical, surgical, and step down units).

FNKV in the Czech Republic chooses MetaVision

Gold Coast Hospital in Australia goes live with MetaVision

Gold Coast Hospital in Queensland, Australia has gone live with MetaVision in its intensive care unit. This is the first implementation in a state-wide agreement with the Government of Queensland for installing MetaVision across the state’s network of public hospitals, with project goals of standardization and enforcement of clinical best practices. MetaVision was selected as the single electronic patient record for the network’s 14 ICUs, replacing paper records and competing software systems. The configuration for this installation was designed by a group of ICU users from multiple disciplines across the state, and will serve as the basis for additional MetaVision implementations in the network.

MetaVision increases SCIP compliance for antibiotic timing by more than 30%

Research published in Anesthesia & Analgesia shows that MetaVision decision support tools increased compliance with SCIP indicators and improved outcomes at Lehigh Valley Health Network (Allentown, PA). After implementation, compliance with documentation and administration of antibiotics within 60 minutes of surgical incision increased.

SALK in Austria has gone live with MetaVision in their ICU, OR and PACU. Further plans include implementation in their Neonatal ICU and their Intermediate ICU. Since implementing MetaVision, the hospital can now use label printers that comply with the standards of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), and which reduce the risk of medication errors. This is the first MetaVision implementation in Austria.

MetaVision facilitates study about benefits of late parenteral nutrition in critically ill adults

A recent study in the New England Journal of Medicine utilized MetaVision to assist researchers in managing the nutritional needs of critically ill patients. The study found that late parenteral nutrition was associated with fewer infections, enhanced recovery, and lower health care costs. The MetaVision patient data management system was used in order to calculate the daily volumes of enteral and parenteral nutrition administered to each patient, according to the required protocol.                                                                                                                                       Read journal article

ACT Chief Minister officially launches MetaVision at Canberra Hospital, Australia

Australian Capital Territory Chief Minister and Minister for Health, Katy Gallagher MLA, officially launched MetaVision for the ICU at Canberra Hospital, Australia. According to the Chief Minister, “This technology will improve clinical outcomes through timely access to patient data, improve accurate and timely reporting, reduce the length of stay in the ICU and enable early recognition and management of clinical emergencies.... The Sjælland region of Denmark chooses MetaVision

The Sjælland region of Denmark has chosen MetaVision for the ICUs, NICUs, ORs and PACUs of its eleven hospitals, standardizing critical care throughout the entire region. The hospitals serve a population of 800,000 people throughout 22 cities, and admit 165,000 patients and treat 675,000 outpatients per year. Sjælland will implement MVmulti-site, which enables networks to maintain standardization and enforce best practices across institutions. Canberra Hospital in Australia went live with MetaVision in its ICU. Canberra Hospital (TCH) is an acute care teaching hospital of approximately 600 beds and is the largest public hospital in the region, supporting a population of almost 540,000. Staff within the ICU is now managing all clinical documentation electronically within MetaVision, including progress notes, medication management, assessments and observations. This project is part of the ACT (Australian Capital Territory) Government’s initiative to introduce e-health projects into the public health system.

Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center in Israel goes live with MetaVision within eight weeks

Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center, one of the largest hospitals in Israel, has gone live with MetaVision in 18 ICU beds and about 35 step down beds in its NICU. The Medical Center has 1100 hospital beds, and approximately 60 departments and institutes. The installation was completed within an eight week time frame. MetaVision is now live in three departments throughout the Medical Center.

Clalit Health System, Israel, won the “People and Computers” IT Award for 2010 for its implementation of MetaVision in four NICUs across its network. According to the contest judges, the system provides NICU clinicians with the readily available, up-to-date information they need to make the best possible treatment decisions. They also noted MetaVision's ability to implement quality control measures and to enforce uniform clinical language and standards, resulting in reduced errors.

Lievensberg Hospital, the Netherlands, goes live with MetaVision

Lievensberg Hospital of Bergen op Zoom has gone live with MetaVision in its ICU, leading the way for the three other hospitals in the south-west Netherlands that are in the process of implementing ’s solution. Sydney Adventist Hospital goes live with MetaVision

Sydney Adventist Hospital (SAN), the largest not-for-profit private hospital in New South Wales, Australia, has gone live with MetaVision in its Coronary Care Unit and ICU, which admit a total of 2700 patients annually. The system was customized to meet the complex workflow of these units, and was well received by the multidisciplinary team of users.

New study – Adherence to drug guidelines doubles with MetaVision

A study recently published in the European Journal of Anaesthesiology shows a dramatic increase in adherence to prophylaxis administration guidelines using MetaVision, at OLVG hospital. Using MetaVision decision support tools, the Hospital was able to increase timely delivery of both dexamethasone and granisetron from 39% to 79%. The study concluded “decision support is effective in improving administration and timing of PONV prophylaxis medication”.

Intensivists from OLVG log into the MetaVision system of NKI-AVL, and review the detailed patient records. During a conference call between the two hospitals, the intensivists evaluate and optimize all aspects of the treatment. Telemedicine now enables specialized 24 hour care to NKI-AVL patients, in compliance with national care guidelines.
